In life and business, the people who win train themselves to spot openings where others see walls.
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,
neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all”.
Ecclesiastes 9:11
From the above, we can infer that:
- · If you are swift in running and have no opportunity to use the running skill, it is useless.
- · If you are strong but have no opportunity to test your strength, it is useless.
- · If you are wise but have no opportunity to apply your wisdom, it will not benefit mankind.
- · If you have a good understanding but no opportunity to apply it, then it is useless.
- · If you are skillful and have no opportunity to use the skill to benefit mankind, it is useless.
Then, what is an opportunity?
Opportunity is a situation, condition, or circumstance that comes your way in the journey of life and, when used, taken hold of, or acted upon; it enables you to realize your dreams or aspirations.
It is the one thing that can turn a small skill into a big business, a random meeting into a partnership, a ‘no’ today into a ‘yes’ tomorrow.
Therefore, look for opportunities to deliver service or create opportunities for yourself and for the benefit of mankind.
To be financially free and independent, you must do the following:
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For
every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”. – Matthew 7:7-8
You must ask for opportunities, seek opportunities, and knock on the doors of opportunity. And where there is no opportunity, you must create one.
Opportunity is not something you wait for. You create it, recognize it, and act on it fast. When opportunity meets preparation, progress is inevitable. So, what opportunity will you act on right now?
